Where to stay in St. Kitts: Frigate Bay and the peninsula

Resort strip or quiet capital, how to choose where to stay in St. Kitts and where to start.

St. Kitts keeps most of its hotels on the narrow neck of land south of the capital, where two coasts sit minutes apart, and the choice is between the resort strip and the quieter corners.

Where to stay

Frigate Bay is the hub, a slim waistband of the island with the Caribbean calm on one side and the Atlantic surf on the other, the resorts, beach bars and the golf close together. The south-east peninsula beyond it runs down to the best beaches and a growing upmarket corner around Christophe Harbour. Basseterre, the capital, puts you in town near the pier and the railway. Frigate Bay for the beaches and the buzz, the peninsula for quiet.

Where to start

Before you go

The peninsula beaches are a short drive from the Frigate Bay hotels, so a car or taxi helps. The number on each page is the property’s own.
