Where to shop in St. Kitts: batik, cane spirit and Port Zante
From hand-printed batik to the island’s own cane spirit, how to shop in St. Kitts and the stores to start with. Each with its own contact details.

Shopping in St. Kitts runs from the duty-free shops by the cruise pier to the crafts made across the island. The things worth carrying home are the local ones: cloth, spirit and craft.
What to look for
Batik, cotton hand-printed with wax and dye at a historic plantation estate in the hills, is the island’s signature craft and its best-known buy, made into clothing and hangings. The local spirit is CSR, a light cane spirit distilled from sugar-cane syrup rather than molasses, alongside the island’s spiced rums. Port Zante by the pier in Basseterre covers the duty-free jewellery and perfume, and the craft stalls cover jams, teas and souvenirs.

Before you go
The pier shops are busiest on cruise days; the craft comes cheaper away from them. The number on each page is the shop’s own.
