Where to stay in Nevis: plantation inns and Pinney’s Beach

Historic hillside inns or the beach strip, how to choose where to stay in Nevis and where to start.

Nevis stays small and low-key on purpose, and its lodging is unlike anywhere else in the region: old sugar-plantation great houses turned into intimate hillside inns, alongside the beach strip below.

Where to stay

The island’s signature is the plantation inn, an 18th-century estate house set in the green hills, all gardens, history and quiet, a genuinely Nevisian way to stay. Down on the west coast, Pinney’s Beach is the long palm-lined strand where the beachier hotels and bars sit, with Charlestown and its Georgian streets close by. Choose the hills for character, the beach for the sand and the sea.

Where to start

Before you go

The plantation inns are small and personal, so they book up early. The number on each page is the property’s own.
