Where to shop in Antigua: the quays, sea island cotton and rum
Duty-free quays, sea island cotton and the sweetest pineapple in the world. How to shop in Antigua and the stores to start with. Each with its own contact details.

Shopping in Antigua clusters around the two quays of St. John’s, the duty-free names on one and the local boutiques on the other. The buys worth chasing are the ones the island grows and makes.
What to look for
Heritage Quay is the duty-free run, jewellery, watches, liquor and perfume by the cruise dock; Redcliffe Quay next door is the prettier one, local boutiques, art and craft in old warehouses around shaded courtyards. For something of the island, look for sea island cotton, grown and woven here, local rum, pottery and straw work, and, from the Saturday market on Market Street, the famous Antigua black pineapple, said to be the sweetest in the world.
