Established in 1971, VVPS is a government-run institution that serves the local community with a commitment to academic excellence and community engagement.

The school's vibrant green buildings are complemented by a spacious yard adorned with coconut trees and sea grapes, creating a serene and inspiring atmosphere for students, and there is a wheelchair accessible entrance. Under the leadership of Principal Estelle Laurent-Carter, who assumed the role in September 2025, VVPS continues to prioritize holistic education, integrating academic learning with cultural and environmental awareness.
