Vivien Vanterpool Primary School
About
Along the eastern coast of Anguilla, in the picturesque village of Island Harbour, Vivien Vanterpool Primary School (VVPS) offers students a unique learning environment with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and nearby Scilly Cay. Established in 1971, VVPS is a government-run institution that serves the local community with a commitment to academic excellence and community engagement.
The school's vibrant green buildings are complemented by a spacious yard adorned with coconut trees and sea grapes, creating a serene and inspiring atmosphere for students, and there is a wheelchair accessible entrance. Under the leadership of Principal Estelle Laurent-Carter, who assumed the role in September 2025, VVPS continues to prioritize holistic education, integrating academic learning with cultural and environmental awareness.
Their dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals is evident in its active participation in various community projects and educational initiatives. For instance, VVPS students recently won the 2023 Hello Tourist Programme group project, focusing on environmental conservation and beautification.
