Seaside Stables Anguilla
About
Seaside Stables is a private ranch in the Cove Bay/West End area of Anguilla. It’s open by appointment only, making it an intimate, personalized experience. Run by Tonia Downing, an equestrian who’s lived in Anguilla for decades, Seaside Stables practices ethical horsemanship—prioritizing the well-being, health, and happiness of its horses. The herd is treated with care and riders are encouraged to connect with both the animals and the land.
The tour offers, horseback rides along natural, mostly secluded beaches (Cove Bay and others) sometimes even riding through shallow sea waters or trails for different ability levels, from beginners to more experienced riders. Other opportunities for non-ridden experiences are, being around horses, enjoying their company (therapeutic, relaxing) even if riding isn’t your thing but carefully chosen herd of about 9–10 horses. Includes Paso Fino types (known for their very smooth gait), Criollos, and rescued ex-racehorses. Some horses are retired and not ridden.
Guests ride by reservation only, arrangements are to be made in advance. Children as young as 2 may ride (with adult/guide support), and horses provided are matched to riding skill. Seaside Stables isn’t just about a ride—it’s about slowing down, immersing in nature and beauty, building trust with gentle animals, and enjoying views few get to see. Perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking for a meaningful escape in Anguilla.
