The Nevis Island Administration-Ministry & Department of Agriculture is a government office. The ministry is responsible for policy formation, resource allocation, strategic planning, and oversight on activities led by the Department of Agriculture or related entities. Meanwhile, the department is responsible for promoting economic, sustainable development in agriculture, through effective collaboration, training, support and dialogue with stakeholders at various levels. This includes, training and extension to farmers through improved techniques, technologies, and best practices, production support meaning assisting farmers with with input (seeds, fertilizers, etc.) and how to market their produce, research & development, agro-processing, ensuring food security, and supporting the development of agricultural infrastructure.
