About
The Department of Marine Resources is governmental office under the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries & Marine Resources of St. Kitts. The role of the department is to manage, conserve, develop and ensure sustainability is maintained within the fisheries, marine resources and aquaculture sectors of the island and beyond its fishing jurisdiction. The overall function of the department are conservation and management, whether its monitoring and controlling of fishing vessels, protecting marine ecosystems that are keystone species and areas in which they inhabit, and policy and strategy implementation, through licensing and authorization, policy development and so on.
