Citizenship By Investment Unit
About
The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) of Antigua & Barbuda is the official government authority responsible for administering and regulating the country’s Citizenship by Investment Programme (CIP). Established under the Citizenship by Investment Act, the CIU oversees the processing, due diligence and approval of applications from foreign investors seeking Antiguan and Barbudan citizenship through approved investment routes. These routes include contributions to the National Development Fund, real estate investment in government-approved projects, business investment and the University of the West Indies Fund option. The Unit ensures strict compliance with international standards through comprehensive background checks, regulatory oversight and collaboration with global due-diligence partners, safeguarding the integrity of the programme. Headquartered in St. John’s, the CIU plays a central role in attracting foreign direct investment while supporting national development, economic growth and global mobility opportunities for approved applicants.
