Antigua and Barbuda Intellectual Property and Commerce Office
About
The Antigua and Barbuda Intellectual Property and Commerce Office (ABIPCO) is the national authority responsible for administering and enforcing key aspects of intellectual property and commercial regulation under the Ministry of Legal Affairs. It serves as the official registry for companies, business names, trademarks, patents, industrial designs, and other intellectual property rights in Antigua and Barbuda, providing both regulatory oversight and administrative services to individuals and businesses operating within the jurisdiction. At its Hewlett House location on St. John’s Street in St. John’s, ABIPCO offers a range of amenities and services designed to support legal compliance and commercial activity. These include processing trademark applications and maintaining the national trademark register, where the Registrar has authority over examination, opposition handling, and appeals under the Trade Marks Act; facilitating payment of applicable fees by cash, cheque, debit, or credit card; and advising applicants on procedures and compliance requirements. The office also administers business name and company registrations, guiding entrepreneurs through naming, incorporation, and statutory filings, and maintains accessible forms and documentation online to streamline submissions.
